Java Developer

Responsibilities

Kforce had a client in need of a Java Developer in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities:

• Develop applications in compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
• Construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
• Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; Escalates appropriately
• Contribute to the design of components or individual programs
• Provide production support for applications as needed
• Work with subject matter experts reviewing technical designs and specifications
• Apply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs
• Work with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• Develop responsive and user-friendly UI using Angular
• Build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures
• Integrate frontend components with backend services
• Deploy and manage containerized applications on OpenShift in AWS cloud environment
• Configure and maintain Open Shift deployments, services, and routing
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues in containerized environments
• Write clean, reusable and testable code
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Work with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation
• Manage database migrations and version control
  
  

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in information technology
• To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
• Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
  
  

Frontend Development Experience Using

• Angular 12+ with TypeScript 4.3+
• HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS
• Bootstrap 4.6+ and Angular Material
• Component-based application architecture
• RxJS 6.6+ and reactive programming with observables
  
  

Backend Development Experience Using

• Java 17
• Spring Boot 3.5+, including Spring MVC and Spring Security
• Spring JPA / Hibernate 6.4+
• RESTful web services and APIs
• PostgreSQL databases
• Maven build and dependency management
• JWT-based authentication and authorization
  
  

Cloud And DevOps Experience Including

• OpenShift container platform
• AWS cloud services (including EC2 and RDS)
• Docker containerization
• Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Git-based version control
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
