Location: GIBS Business School Campus, Begur, Near Bommanahalli , Bangalore.

Job Summary
GIBS Business School is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Administrator to deliver timely, efficient technical support to our college staff. This critical role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues across a diverse environment of Windows, Linux, and Unix-based systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring seamless IT operations and maintaining a high standard of customer service, while also supporting other branches as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues.
Utilize expertise in Windows OS and Unix/Linux command-line tools for effective problem resolution.
Strive to resolve the majority of technical issues at the first point of contact.
Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and licensed application software.
Perform chipset-level and component-level hardware diagnostics and repairs.
Proactively manage system updates, patches, and scheduled preventive maintenance.
Configure, support, and troubleshoot VPN connections for remote access.
Assist the network team with basic infrastructure troubleshooting.
Implement security protocols, maintain antivirus/anti-malware solutions, and ensure system hardening.
Enforce compliance with institutional IT security policies and data protection standards.
Conduct training sessions for staff on new software, tools, and IT best practices.
Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
Assist with the procurement process for IT hardware, software, and supplies.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
Proven prior experience in desktop support, technical support, or a similar IT administrator role.
Equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and certifications will be seriously considered.
Technical Skills Required
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux/Unix operating systems.
Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting, repair, and assembly.
Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), VPNs, and remote desktop tools (RDP, SSH, VNC).
Practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory for user and resource management.
Soft Skills Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
Outstanding customer service orientation and patience in assisting users of varying technical skill.
Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize workload, and work well within a team.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally for branch support and procurement duties.
