Job Description

As a Senior iOS Developer at GrayQuest, you will own the design and evolution of our iOS SDK and contribute to our React Native mobile stack, powering payment and fee collection for educational institutions and ERP partners at scale.

You will work closely with the Technical Lead, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders, including ERP partners, to deliver reliable payment and fee collection solutions for educational institutions.

You will drive technical decisions for SDK architecture and integration patterns, and mentor junior engineers by reviewing critical code paths.

Key Responsibilities:

• iOS SDK Development: Design, build, and maintain the GrayQuest iOS SDK in Swift, ensuring seamless integration for partner institutions and third-party developers.
• Cross-Platform Development: Build and maintain shared React Native components and modules used across iOS and Android platforms.
• SDK Distribution & Packaging: Manage SDK releases and versioning via CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, and npm for React Native packages, ensuring smooth adoption by consumers.
• React Native App & SDK Releases: Handle the end-to-end release process for React Native apps and packages, including bundling, native module linking, npm publishing, and coordinating App Store and Play Store submissions.
• REST API Integration: Integrate and optimize REST APIs to ensure reliable data flow between mobile applications and backend services.
• Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following mobile architecture best practices and design patterns.
• Debugging & Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues across native and hybrid environments promptly, ensuring stable application functionality.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with ERP teams, product managers, and external partners to shape and deliver integration solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for SDK consumers, internal teams, and integration partners.
• Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning to improve SDK footprint, app responsiveness, and overall user experience.
• Testing & Reliability: Implement unit, integration, and UI tests, and monitor crash and performance metrics to maintain high code stability.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in iOS development with strong proficiency in Swift, including at least 2 years in product companies / SDK work.
• Hands-on experience in iOS SDK development — packaging, versioning, and distribution. Working experience with CocoaPods and Swift Package Manager for library distribution.
• Basic to intermediate experience with React Native development — building components, working with native bridges, and shipping features in a hybrid codebase.
• Strong understanding of REST API integrations and mobile-backend communication. In-depth knowledge of mobile architectures and design patterns.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across native and hybrid codebases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — ability to interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and meet deadlines. Awareness of mobile security best practices, secure storage, and compliance in payments/fintech contexts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React Native SDK development — building, packaging, and distributing reusable React Native modules or libraries via npm.
• Hands-on experience with React Native release pipelines — including CodePush, Fastlane, or CI/CD setups for hybrid app deployments.
• Advanced React Native knowledge — custom native modules, performance profiling, and bridging complex native APIs.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or B2B SaaS products.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or institutional software integrations.
• Exposure to Flutter or other cross-platform frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
