We are looking for a hands-on IoT Developer for this role. We don't just need someone to follow a blueprint -we need a technical decision-maker who evaluates a product's needs and determines exactly a custom microcontroller/processor architecture.

Role Description:

The IoT Developer will work on integrating hardware devices, sensors, and embedded systems with ALLREAL’s cutting-edge immersive training platforms. You will be responsible for designing and implementing IoT architectures, programming microcontrollers, configuring systems, and ensuring reliable, low-latency data transmission between physical devices and XR applications.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Architecture & Decision Making: Evaluate product requirements to select the right hardware path balancing cost, power, processing capability, and form factor.
• End-to-End Prototyping: Design, build, solder, and test physical IoT modules and rigs.
• Firmware & Code Burning: Write robust code for microcontrollers/processors and handle code flashing and device configuration.
• System Integration: Collaborate closely with software and XR developers to ensure flawless data communication between hardware and immersive platforms.
• Troubleshooting & Documentation: Debug connectivity, hardware performance, and sensor calibration issues, and maintain clear technical design documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• The Builder Mindset: Strong hands-on experience in IoT system architecture, device integration, and physical product prototyping.
• Hardware & Electronics Expertise: Deep knowledge of electronic component selection, sensor technologies, basic circuit design, and hands-on soldering/reworking.
• Microcontrollers & Single-Board Computers: Proficient with the Arduino ecosystem, ESP32, STM32, and hands-on deployment/configuration of Raspberry Pi-based systems.
• Communication Protocols: Solid understanding of data transmission protocols essential for real-time systems (MQTT, BLE, Wi-Fi, HTTP, REST, I2C, SPI, UART).
• Software Integration: Strong programming skills for both resource-constrained embedded systems and application-level integration.
• Team Synergy: Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team alongside XR, software, and hardware engineers.
• Bonus Points: Familiarity with cloud IoT platforms, data security best practices, or past work interfacing hardware with Unity/Unreal/XR environments.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical "builder" experience.
