Infrastructure Automation Specialist- Powershell

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wintel & Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, automation, and optimization of enterprise-scale Windows, VMware, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Wintel technologies, virtualization platforms, Active Directory services, cloud infrastructure, and infrastructure automation.

This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and operational excellence of hybrid infrastructure environments spanning on-premises data centers and Azure cloud platforms. The successful candidate will also play a key role in driving automation initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Administration

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade Windows Server infrastructure across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Architect and administer highly available, scalable, and secure Wintel platforms supporting mission-critical business applications.
• Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, virtualization optimization, and platform standardization.
  
  

VMware Virtualization Management

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain VMware environments including:
• VMware vSphere
• ESXi
• vCenter Server
• Virtual machine lifecycle management
• Optimize virtualization performance, capacity planning, resource allocation, and availability.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
  

Azure Infrastructure Services

• Manage and optimize Microsoft Azure IaaS services, including:
• Virtual Machines
• Virtual Networks
• Load Balancers
• Storage Accounts
• Backup and Recovery Services
• Monitoring and ing
• Support cloud migration, hybrid connectivity, governance, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• Implement Azure best practices for security, resiliency, and cost management.
  

Identity & Access Management

• Administer and maintain:
• Active Directory (AD DS)
• Group Policy Objects (GPO)
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Authentication and Identity Services
• Manage user lifecycle processes, directory synchronization, access controls, and security policies.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise identity and security standards.
  

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using:
• Ansible
• PowerShell
• Python
• Bash
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management best practices across the environment.
  

Operations, Performance & Reliability

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to improve platform stability.
• Monitor infrastructure health, capacity utilization, and performance metrics.
• Ensure adherence to SLA, availability, and operational excellence objectives.
  
  

Security & Compliance

• Implement server hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security best practices.
• Support compliance initiatives and infrastructure audits.
• Collaborate with security teams to maintain a secure and compliant infrastructure environment.
  
  

Storage & Platform Integration

• Support storage provisioning and integration activities with Pure Storage platforms.
• Collaborate with storage, networking, and cloud teams to optimize infrastructure performance and availability.
  
  

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and operational teams.
• Collaborate with architecture, networking, security, cloud, and DevOps teams on enterprise infrastructure initiatives.
• Participate in change management, release planning, and infrastructure governance activities.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 12–15 years of hands-on experience in Wintel Infrastructure Engineering, Virtualization, and Hybrid Cloud technologies.
• Strong expertise in:
• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 Administration
• Active Directory Services
• Group Policy Management
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Extensive experience with VMware technologies:
• vSphere
• ESXi
• vCenter
• Virtualization Administration
• Proven experience managing Microsoft Azure IaaS environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using:
• PowerShell
• Ansible
• Python
• Bash
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, performance tuning, and operational support.
• Working knowledge of Pure Storage administration and storage provisioning.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security principles, system hardening, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
