Industrial Manufacturing Engineer - Mid Level
ACHIEVER APPARELS PRIVATE LIMITED
Job Description
Company Description
Achiever Apparels Pvt Ltd is a leading Gurgaon-based garment manufacturer with over four decades of experience exporting women’s and kidswear to global fashion brands across the US, EU, and UK. We are known for fast turnaround, premium finishing, and ethical, sustainable production — and we are currently scaling, including the launch of a second manufacturing unit later this year.
Role Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Industrial Engineer to own efficiency across our production floor — from operation breakdown and line balancing to standard time setting and output tracking. This role is central to how we cost and plan our production workflow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Time and motion study
- Conduct time and motion studies for new and existing styles; break down garments into individual operations.
- Establish and maintain Standard Minute Values (SMV) using GSD or equivalent predetermined time systems.
- Identify and eliminate non-value adding motions and bottleneck operations at the machine and operator level
2. Line planning and balancing
- Plan operation sequences and machine allocation for each style ahead of line set-up
- Balance lines across operators and machines to minimise idle time and work-in-progress pile ups.
- Re-balance lines in response to style changeovers, absenteeism, or output shortfalls.
3. Efficiency and output tracking
- Track daily line and individual operator efficiency against target – maintain efficiency reports.
- Investigate efficiency drops and recommend corrective action – training, layout changes, machine attachments, or method changes
- Maintain DHU (Defects per hundred units) visibility in coordination with quality teams where efficiency and quality issues intersect.
4. Costing Support
- Provide SMV-based costing inputs to merchandising for new style quotations
- Validate actual SMV against quoted SMV post-production and flag deviations
What We're Looking For
1. Must Have
- 4–8 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a garment/apparel manufacturing environment (woven or knits; women’s/kidswear experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of time and motion study, SMV setting, and predetermined time systems (GSD, GTS, or similar).
- Practical experience with line balancing across multiple live production lines.
- Comfortable on the shop floor daily
- Working knowledge of MS Excel for efficiency tracking and reporting.
2. Good To Have
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
- Bachelor's degree in Textile/Garment Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
