Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support specialized insurance claims reconciliations focused on property claims, bordereaux reporting, and funding analysis. This role is ideal for an accountant with strong technical skills, a detail‑driven mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for reconciling insurance claim payments, comparing bordereaux data against multiple financial sources, identifying discrepancies, and communicating findings clearly to the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate reconciliations of property claim bordereaux reports, claim system payment data, and Vitesse payment histories.
  • Validate claim payment accuracy, fees, and funding movements across various data sources.
  • Analyze discrepancies and prepare clear, actionable discrepancy reports for internal teams and the client.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with the client regarding reconciliation status, issues identified and required follow‑ups.
  • Utilize Excel, Vitesse, and internal claims systems to perform data validation, compare payment records, and track reconciliation progress.
  • Support the accounting team with ad hoc reconciliation tasks to ensure full transparency and completeness of claim funding activity.
  • Ensure all reconciliation results are documented thoroughly and delivered according to project milestones.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Good written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Good team player with interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience in insurance accounting, claims reconciliation, or bordereau reporting.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external client stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary
