Import/Export Documentation & Freight Operations Consultant

Company Description Triage Ops is exploring new AI-enabled tools for import/export, freight documentation, shipment coordination, and freight cost recovery. We are looking to speak with experienced EXIM / import-export / freight forwarding / customs clearance / shipping documentation professionals who deeply understand how shipments move in the real world — from supplier documents to CHA coordination, Bill of Entry, shipping-line follow-ups, Delivery Order, payment coordination, demurrage/detention prevention, and freight invoice checking.

This is ideal for someone who has worked hands-on in import/export operations and can explain practical workflows, common mistakes, delays, documents, charges, and coordination issues.

You will help us understand and document real import/export workflows, including:

• Import/export documentation process
• CHA and customs clearance coordination
• Bill of Entry checklist process
• BL, invoice, packing list, PI, DO, LC/BG, DGFT-related documentation
• Shipping-line coordination
• Freight forwarder coordination
• Container tracking and arrival workflow
• Detention/demurrage causes and prevention
• Freight invoice checking and overcharge disputes
• Common delays caused by missing documents, wrong data, duty/payment delays, transporter delays, or CHA/shipping-line follow-up gaps
• How teams use Excel, email, WhatsApp, ERP, Tally, portals, and manual trackers today
• Where AI/automation can realistically help

We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:

• EXIM operations
• Import documentation
• Export documentation
• Freight forwarding
• Customs clearance
• CHA coordination
• Shipping-line coordination
• Trade finance documentation
• LC/BG documentation
• DGFT / EPCG / Advance License / RoDTEP / drawback process
• Freight invoice checking
• Detention/demurrage handling
• Importer/exporter coordination

• 5+ years in import/export, freight forwarding, customs clearance, or logistics documentation
• Experience working with importers/exporters, CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, or manufacturers
• Strong understanding of actual ground workflow, not just theory
• Bangalore-based candidates preferred
• Retired/semi-retired EXIM professionals are welcome
• Consultants and freelancers are welcome
