Job Title: HR Generalist-Payroll and Statutory Compliances

Location: Kandanchavadi-Chennai-Onsite

Job Level: Individual Contributor


HR Generalist


The role is responsible for providing HR Operations support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources such as payroll, time office management, statutory compliance management, employee database management, compensation and benefits, employee services, employee relations.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support HR Team in day-to-day HR Operations activities which broadly cover payroll management, statutory benefits administration, compensation, onboarding support, employee relations and employee services and employee exit process, with added focus on payroll and statutory function and process improvement in day to day operations
  • Responsible for ensuring timely audit and monitoring of time office reports and absence management through HCM system
  • Support HR team in liaising with payroll service providers and ensure smooth and timely payroll processing
  • Continuous interaction with internal GP stakeholders related to various payroll inputs and advise/guide them on specific pay-out compliance criteria and on timelines for inputs etc.
  • Processing of new hires (joiners) and employee separations (leavers) data and providing support in effective coordination and implementation of employee life cycle management processes (onboarding till exit), as required
  • Monitors the HR help desk and respond to employee queries relating to payroll, employee benefits, insurance enrolments, statutory deductions, etc.
  • Support the HR team in timely statutory administration, including enrolment in PF and ESI.
  • Responsible for monthly statutory activities and statutory portal updates with timely closure of KYC processes, joint declarations, PF claims etc.
  • Timely tracking and ensuring all relevant statutory returns and registers are effectively maintained.
  • Responsible for updating employee data in all relevant system database, including audit of employee documents, files, and system database related information to ensure accurate and complete employee records are maintained.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams, including HR employee life cycle management team and to ensure accurate and timely completion of pre-defined processes. Support onboarding and exit team with relevant information as required and providing timely support on database management as a secondary role
  • Assist in coordinating Employee/ex-employee statutory benefit closures and full and final settlement process
  • Support HR team for successful completion of year beginning and year-end tax planning and tax submission activity respectively
  • Establishes strong and effective working relationships with internal/external customers to promote and support positive employee relations, Company culture and employee engagement efforts to support business objectives and continually improve value - add from HR to the business through strong partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Support HR team with various ad hoc projects as and when assigned


Skills and Experience Required


  • Graduation with post graduate management degree/diploma in HR preferred
  • Minimum 4 -5 years’ experience in HR function with maximum years of exposure as a HR Generalist
  • Knowledge and exposure in statutory portals like PF and ESI is preferred
  • Exposure in working with HRIS/ERP system, particularly with Oracle is an added advantage
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Good communication skills, ability to multitask and work under specific timelines/ deadlines
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to produce zero-defect work and ability to do quality check
  • Good team player who can collaborate at all levels
