Position Summary
The HR Specialist for Compliance is an integral part of the Human Resources Operations Team working to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, and internal policies and procedures to mitigate risk and protect employee and organizational welfare. Under the direction of the HR Operations Manager, the HR Specialist is responsible for auditing all aspects of employment including HRIS data, payroll and compensation, benefits administration, hiring and onboarding practices, internal policies and procedures, etc. The HR Specialist is also responsible for monitoring Human Resources’ regulatory compliance under the guidelines outlined by various state and federal regulatory agencies.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
Experience
At least 1 year of prior experience in Human Resources required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Substantial sitting and walking. Moderate standing. Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). At times may be subject to high levels of stress, managing competing priorities, and peaks and valleys in workload. Requires considerable mental effort and logical thought processing.Prolonged periods of working on a computer.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly learn HRIS and related systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment, including making decisions under pressure.
