Role Description

  • The Housekeeping Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at OneHealth Hospital in Vandalur, Chennai.
  • This role oversees daily housekeeping operations to ensure all patient rooms, clinical areas, public spaces, and support areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • The Housekeeping Supervisor plans and assigns work schedules, monitors cleaning standards, inspects areas for quality and infection control compliance and coordinates housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Responsibilities include training and guiding housekeeping staff, managing supplies and equipment, responding to patient and visitor requests, and collaborating with nursing and facilities teams to support a hygienic hospital environment.
  • The supervisor also assists with incident reporting, adherence to hospital policies, and continuous improvement of housekeeping procedures.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills and experience leading housekeeping or support service teams.
  • Candidates should possess housekeeping skills, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, hospital hygiene standards, and infection control practices.
  • Candidates should possess laundry-related skills, including handling, processing, and organizing hospital linen and uniforms.
  • Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred, with familiarity in safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and use of hospital systems are beneficial.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality, housekeeping management, or healthcare support services is an advantage.
