Job Description
Hotel at Fifth Ave & NYMA Hotel | New York, NY On-Site, In-Person Role Full-Time | Exempt Reports to: Senior Operations Manager / General Manager
About The Hotels.
Both hotels are midscale properties located across from each other in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, on the border of NoMad. Hotel at Fifth Avenue features 182 rooms, and NYMA Hotel has 171 rooms.
Both properties are scheduled for full/partial renovations and repositioning beginning in Q1-Q2 2027. The renovation program will include a relaunch and partial rebranding of the hotels, creating an opportunity for the team to help shape and lead the transition from the current operations to newly refreshed independent hotel concepts.
The properties are proudly managed by Rebel Hotel Company, one of the fastest-growing hotel management companies in the United States, known for developing people-first leaders and offering real career mobility across a growing national portfolio.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on, service-driven Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of Rooms Division, overseeing Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering operations. This is a highly visible role, ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in independent hotel environments, enjoys being on the floor, and takes pride in running smooth, guest-focused daily operations, with a fair deal of autonomous decision making.
In this role, you will partner closely with the Senior Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and team engagement. You will also step in as the senior operational leader in the superiors’ absence, supporting departments and maintaining the rhythm of the hotel.
This position is designed for someone who sees operations not as a checklist, but as a living, breathing experience shaped by people, decisions, and moments.
What You’ll Do
As Operations Manager, you will help lead the daily operations of the Rooms Division, overseeing Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering with a hands-on, guest-first approach. You will support department leaders, ensure service standards are consistently met, and help create an environment where employees feel empowered to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
You will serve as a key operational leader in the absence of your direct Supervisors, participate in Manager-on-Duty coverage, and remain highly visible in public areas during
peak times. Training, coaching, and compliance with Rebel Hotel Company standards will be central to your role, along with maintaining strong communication across departments.
You will assist with staffing, scheduling support, inspections, preventative maintenance oversight, and deep-cleaning programs, working closely with Housekeeping and Engineering leadership, as well as set the operational pace of the Front Desk operation and selling strategy.
Throughout the day, you will balance guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team engagement, using sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and professionalism in a fast-paced boutique hotel environment.
Who You Are
You are a hospitality professional with previous supervisory experience who understands the nuances of rooms operations in a lifestyle or luxury hotel environment. You are comfortable making decisions, solving problems in real time, and balancing guest satisfaction with operational discipline.
You are calm under pressure, organized in your thinking, and confident working with financial data, reports, and basic analytics. You communicate clearly, listen actively, and can navigate complex information while adapting to the needs of the business.
You are proficient with Windows-based systems, able to evaluate multiple courses of action quickly, and effective at resolving both guest and employee concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Experience & Education
To be successful in this role, you will bring one of the following:
Competitive salary: $70,000 - $73,000
Comprehensive Benefits Package Including
401(k) with company matching
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Life insurance
Paid time off
More importantly, we offer growth. Rebel Hotel Company is expanding rapidly, and this role is a strong stepping stone for leaders looking to advance within a dynamic, people-focused hospitality organization.
Why Join Us
If you’re energized by boutique hotels, believe great operations start with great people, and want to build a career with a company that invests in its leaders, Life Hotel New York and Rebel Hotel Company may be exactly what you’re looking for.
We’d love to meet you!
