Job Purpose: The Head - Projects Transmission Line (Site)-Tx is responsible for leading the execution of high-voltage (765/400 kV) transmission line projects, ensuring timely completion within budget, quality, and safety parameters. This role provides strategic oversight of project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and contractor performance to drive operational excellence across all phases of construction and commissioning. By ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing project execution strategies, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders, the role enhances project efficiency, mitigates risks, and upholds a zero-harm safety culture, contributing to the successful realization of organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Head - Projects Transmission Line (Site)-Tx

Project Management

Lead end-to-end project execution by managing engineering teams, aligning milestones with commissioning targets, and ensuring adherence to Field Quality Plans (FQP) and IS Codes/CBIP manuals.

Strengthen project planning by overseeing scheduling, identifying critical paths, and conducting structured review meetings to mitigate delays.

Maintain transparent project tracking by generating and managing MIS reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making and regular management updates.

Eliminate execution roadblocks by proactively identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions to maintain workflow continuity.

Optimize vendor management by ensuring accurate bill processing, timely approvals, and seamless material and service flow.

Compliance Management

Ensure full regulatory compliance by implementing statutory safety protocols, monitoring adherence to quality standards, and conducting periodic compliance audits.

Safeguard project integrity by ensuring all activities meet legal and organizational requirements, preventing penalties and maintaining workplace safety.

Promote a culture of safety and quality by conducting structured training programs, enhancing site-level awareness, and improving compliance adherence.

Liaison And Stakeholder Management

Strengthen vendor and contractor relationships by facilitating structured engagement, addressing project concerns, and minimizing cost escalations.

Ensure smooth regulatory approvals by coordinating with local authorities for shutdowns, crossings, and critical project activities.

Align interdepartmental collaboration by maintaining effective communication with internal teams, ensuring seamless integration of project objectives.

Financial Management

Maintain budget discipline by monitoring expenses, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring financial adherence to project targets.

Control project costs by enforcing budgetary discipline, preventing overruns, and conducting regular cost-performance evaluations.

Risk Management

Minimize project risks by enforcing safety protocols, conducting site inspections, and embedding proactive hazard mitigation measures.

Ensure operational continuity by identifying project risks early, implementing mitigation plans, and maintaining execution stability.

Technology Integration And Innovation

Enhance project efficiency by deploying digital project management tools, real-time tracking systems, and automated reporting platforms.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech. in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.

Work Experience (Range Of Years)

15-20 years of experience in transmission line execution, with a strong focus on high-voltage projects.

Expertise in Right of Way (ROW) resolution.

Proven experience in liaising with government authorities to secure regulatory and statutory approvals, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.

In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, including IS5613 and the CBIP Manual, as well as strong familiarity with industry regulations and compliance protocols.
