About the Role


We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Engineering to lead our software engineering organization in Kochi. This individual will be responsible for managing engineering managers, technical leads, architects, and software development teams while driving execution, delivery, engineering excellence, and continuous innovation across multiple SaaS products.


The ideal candidate is an experienced technology leader with a strong software engineering background, exceptional people management skills, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise SaaS platforms at scale.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams across product development, architecture, QA, DevOps, and engineering operations.


  • Build, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and senior engineers.


  • Drive engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and product roadmap.


  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software releases.


  • Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, CI/CD processes, and quality metrics.


  • Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Customer Success, Security, and Executive Leadership.


  • Drive technical architecture decisions and long-term platform scalability.


  • Improve engineering productivity, release velocity, system reliability, and operational excellence.


  • Develop succession plans and career growth opportunities for engineering talent.


  • Lead hiring efforts and build high-performing engineering teams.


  • Manage engineering capacity planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization.


  • Monitor engineering KPIs including sprint velocity, delivery timelines, quality metrics, technical debt, uptime, and customer-impacting issues.


  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.


  • Drive Agile development methodologies across multiple Scrum teams.


  • Identify technology risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.


  • Support executive leadership with engineering planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.



Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.


  • 5+ years leading large engineering organizations.


  • Experience managing Engineering Managers and cross-functional engineering teams.


  • Proven experience delivering enterprise SaaS applications.


  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, and scalable software design.


  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.


  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


  • Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.


  • Experience in healthcare technology or regulated SaaS environments.


  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.


  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.


  • Experience leading digital transformation or engineering modernization initiatives.


  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and engineering productivity platforms.
