Head – Collections VP - Microfinance

Location: Kalina, Mumbai

Grade: VP

Reporting To: Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

About The Role

The organization is looking for an experienced leader to head collections for the microfinance portfolio at a pan-India level. The role will focus on driving field collections efficiency, strengthening recovery frameworks, and managing portfolio quality across regions. This position requires strong experience in microfinance collections, particularly in managing large decentralized field teams and high-volume rural portfolios. Exposure to unsecured business loans will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end collections strategy for microfinance portfolios across India
Drive field collections efficiency through strong control on center meetings, group collections, and recovery mechanisms
Manage delinquency, PAR, roll rates, and NPA across microfinance portfolios
Build and lead large, geographically distributed field collections teams
Strengthen on-ground recovery processes including late bucket and write-off recoveries
Drive agency and field force productivity, monitoring performance and coverage
Implement structured collection frameworks across early, mid and recovery buckets
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and fair practices specific to microfinance
Collaborate with Risk, Credit and Business teams to improve portfolio quality
Leverage digital tools and field tracking mechanisms to enhance collections efficiency
Oversee unsecured business loan collections (limited scope) as part of the broader portfolio
