Job Purpose We are looking for someone who has a passion for packaging and the role of packaging in wider product innovation, who can inspire the organisation with the vision for what packaging can achieve, and who can balance that with the technical knowhow and ability to deliver innovations into consumers hands. This role is responsible for the delivery the liquid flexible packaging innovations that will enable brands like Persil / Omo / Surf excel, Comfort, Surf and Sunlight globally to deliver growth through big impactful launches, and to meet our plastics commitments. This role requires the ability to think strategically and build multiyear packaging innovation roadmap and technology funnel to support it. To connect with consumer insights and turn that into superior products and deliver high quality packaging innovations to market. Main Responsibilities Lead short term liquid flexible innovation projects and support medium to long-term packaging portfolio strategy ensuring we are constantly moving forward on sustainability, consumer preference, cost and technology. Co-create packaging roadmaps with marketing, R&D partners, SC and procurement teams both at global and BU level to enable the innovation strategy and deliver superior packaging to market. Build relationships with 3rd parties/ ecosystem to deliver on new formats and system requirements. Build & delivering new capability funnel for flexible packaging to deliver towards plastic commitments and savings program holistically. Build agile approach to packaging development that connects deep consumer insights to packaging solutions and can deliver at the speed and risk level required by the business. Experience And Skills Proven track record leading packaging innovation on global / local brands, experience within FMCG product development is a benefit. Strong business awareness and ability to connect with different workstreams to get things done. Entrepreneurial spirit, able to translate a vision and technical details into clear plans. Comfortable managing projects where large number of cross functional stakeholders involved. Demonstrated technical expertise in packaging ? flexible packaging and knowledge of the technologies of the future. Working knowledge of polymers (materials and processing) and manufacturing processes for flexible films Business communication, appreciation of BC/financials and project management, understanding of claims, SEAC and Regulatory compliances in context of packaging. Growth mindset thought leadership and agility to manage the evolving landscape. Qualification Post Graduation in Packaging Technology, BTech/MTech in Packaging Technology, Polymer or Chemical technology. Travel Yes (15-20% of time).
