Hardware Engineer (NPD)

Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and testing hardware components and systems. This role involves schematic design, PCB layout review, prototyping, hardware debugging, test automation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, reliable hardware products. Hardware Design Design, develop, and document electronic circuits, including digital, analog, mixed-signal, or power circuitry. Create detailed schematics using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Cadence or KiCad. Select appropriate electronic components based on performance, cost, and reliability. Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to ensure optimal board-level design. Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis as required. Work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development cycle. Provide technical support for manufacturing, including resolving hardware issues during pilot builds and production. Prototyping & Testing Build and validate hardware prototypes through hands-on testing and measurement. Develop comprehensive test plans for validating hardware functionality, performance, and reliability. Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, etc.). Perform Design Verification Testing (DVT) and support Production Validation Testing (PVT). Analyze test results, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Documentation & Compliance Generate engineering documentation, including test reports, design specifications, and BOMs. Ensure designs meet regulatory and compliance standards (FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, EMI/EMC). Support product certification and qualification processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field. 2?6 years of experience in hardware design and testing (range can be adjusted based on needs). Strong understanding of electronic circuit design principles. Hands-on experience with EE CAD tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor, etc.). Proficiency with lab test equipment and debugging tools. Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGAs, or high-speed interfaces is a plus.
