Role Description
Greet and welcome guests in a professional, warm and engaging manner upon arrival at the restaurant.
Escort guests to their tables and present menus while ensuring a smooth and comfortable seating experience.
Manage reservations, guest lists, table allocations and seating plans to support efficient restaurant operations.
Monitor table availability, manage guest wait times and communicate accurate waiting estimates during peak hours.
Maintain strong knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, ingredients, preparation methods, beverages, daily specials, promotions and events.
Provide guests with clear information and recommendations regarding food, beverage selections, promotions and restaurant offerings.
Coordinate closely with the service team, kitchen team and bar team to ensure guest preferences, special requests, allergies and VIP requirements are properly communicated and accommodated.
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, concerns and complaints in a professional, courteous and solution oriented manner.
Support the service team with table setup, table clearing and maintaining a smooth flow of service when required.
Maintain a clean, organized and presentable reception and dining area in line with hygiene, safety and brand standards.
Participate in pre-shift briefings to stay updated on daily specials, guest profiles, VIP arrivals, events, operational changes, and service priorities.
Support administrative tasks such as reservation updates, guest profile management, seating updates, cashiering and restaurant communication logs.
Assist in training and guiding new joiner or support team members when required.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and service standards within the reception and dining areas.
Uphold the image, culture and service philosophy of Ikayi at all times.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Guest Relations and Customer Service skills to ensure a positive and personalized experience for every guest.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and active listening in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to promote menu items, signature cocktails, and special events while supporting revenue goals.
- Candidates should possess Receptionist Duties capabilities, including managing reservations, phone calls, and front-desk operations.
- Relevant experience in hospitality, restaurants, or hotels is beneficial, along with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency are preferred; knowledge of reservation systems is an advantage.
