Job Description
We are looking for a Growth Manager who can own the full Revenue, Demand, and User Acquisition charter for New Cities. You will be the business owner for launching and scaling Blinkit in new geographies. You will determine how we win in a new city, understanding local nuances, driving the initial wedge of customer adoption, and scaling it to maturity. This role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Operations, and Category management.
What you will own:
Business Ownership (The P&L)
- Launch & Scale: Own the Daily Active Users (DAU) and Orders Per Day (OPD) targets for a cluster of new cities from Day 1 of launch.
- Growth Playbooks: Build and execute city-specific playbooks for market penetration
- Supply-Demand Balancing: Work closely with Operations to ensure demand generation matches dark store capacity and inventory depth.
Customer Acquisition and Demand
- New User (NU) Growth: Own the New User acquisition funnel. Devise hyperlocal strategies to capture the first customers in a new city.
- Hyperlocal Activation: Build strong offline and BTL (Below The Line) marketing plans. Manage flyer campaigns, society activations, and local partnerships to build brand trust.
- Retention & Frequency: Own the cohort retention rates. Design strategies to convert trial users into weekly transacting power users.
- CRM & Lifecycle: Own city-level CRM nudges (Push, WhatsApp, SMS). Build lifecycle journeys specific to new city users (e.g., educating them on the breadth of the catalog beyond just milk/bread).
- Storefront Management: Optimize the app homepage (Storefront) for specific cities. Highlight regional festivals, local brands, and culturally relevant categories to drive conversion.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Category: Work with the Category team to ensure the assortment mix fits the city (e.g., correct local brands of milk, rice, or snacks).
- Operations Alignment: Work with Dark Store managers and Central Ops to synchronize marketing pushes with rider availability.
- Performance Reporting: Build dashboards and forecasting models for New City performance. Present weekly/monthly updates to leadership on expansion progress.
What makes you right for this role:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in high-growth startups, P&L management, category management, or expansion roles.
- 0-to-1 Mindset: Experience in launching new markets, products, or verticals is highly preferred.
- Hyperlocal Understanding: You understand that selling in Jaipur is different from selling in Bengaluru.
- Data-First Approach: Extremely comfortable with data, funnel analysis, and Excel/SQL.
- Hustle & Pace: Ability to work in a high-velocity environment. Quick commerce moves fast - you need to move faster.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams (Ops, Product, Marketing) without direct authority.
