Job Description
The Supply Chain Head is responsible for leading and managing all end‑to‑end supply chain activities within the plant, including inbound logistics, outbound logistics, internal material flow, planning, warehousing, and transport operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, robust planning, optimal inventory levels, and seamless coordination across production and commercial functions. As a key member of the plant’s management committee, the Supply Chain Head contributes strategically to business performance and operational excellence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Planning & Operations
- Lead the overall supply chain planning function within the plant, including demand planning, production planning, and inventory planning.
- Ensure efficient material flow management—from inbound supplies to internal movement and outbound dispatch.
- Drive alignment of supply plans with production, sales, and customer demand to ensure service level compliance.
- Warehouse Management
- Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, order picking, and dispatch.
- Ensure adherence to safety, 5S, layout optimization, and space utilization best practices.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse productivity and cost optimization.
- Inventory & Operations Planning
- Manage plant-wide inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock to support production needs while minimizing holding costs.
- Monitor inventory health (slow-moving, excess, obsolete) and drive corrective actions.
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Production Planning processes within the plant.
- Logistics & Transportation
- Lead inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely movement of materials and finished goods.
- Optimize transport costs, carrier performance, and route planning.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations for transport and shipping documentation.
- Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key member of the plant management committee, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational performance reviews.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team to build capability and drive high performance.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track and improve KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, warehouse efficiency, transport efficiency, and forecast accuracy.
- Implement digital and automation initiatives to enhance visibility, planning accuracy, and operational agility.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for any supply chain disruptions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, with leadership experience in plant operations.
- Strong understanding of planning, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and familiarity with digital supply chain tools.
