Job Description – In-House Geologist (Iron Ore Mining)

Location: Nashik (Base Location) with frequent travel to mining sites (Odisha / other locations)

Department: Mining / Natural Resources

Experience: 5–12 Years

Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc in Geology

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic In-House Geologist who will be based in Nashik and manage geological activities for iron ore mining projects across different locations. The role includes site visits, exploration, due diligence, and supporting mine acquisition and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and geological surveys for iron ore mining projects
• Handle exploration activities, sampling, and core logging
• Prepare Geological Reports, Resource & Reserve Estimation
• Support in mine acquisition due diligence and feasibility studies
• Coordinate with external geologists, consultants, and mining teams
• Monitor ore quality, grade control, and production alignment
• Ensure compliance with DGMS, IBM, and mining regulations
• Maintain geological data, reports, and mapping records
• Assist management in identifying new mining opportunities

Key Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of iron ore deposits & mining geology
• Hands-on experience in exploration & geological mapping
• Knowledge of tools like Surpac / Datamine / ArcGIS
• Understanding of mining compliance & regulatory framework
• Ability to travel extensively and manage field work

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in iron ore mining (Odisha / Jharkhand preferred)
• Exposure to mine acquisition / due diligence projects
• Comfortable with frequent travel and site-based work
• Strong coordination and reporting skills
