Role Description The Generative AI Engineer will design, build, and refine agentic AI systems and workflows that align with The Agentic Loop’s educational and publication-focused mission. Day-to-day work includes prototyping and deploying generative models, integrating APIs and tools, and creating robust pipelines for experimentation and production use. The role also involves collaborating with content and program leads to turn cutting-edge AI concepts into practical demos, examples, and teaching materials, as well as documenting best practices for readers and learners. The engineer will monitor performance, conduct model evaluations, and improve reliability, safety, and usability of agentic systems. This is a full-time remote role, with flexibility to collaborate across time zones and contribute to a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade services or tools.
• Hands-on experience with modern generative AI models and frameworks (e.g., large language models, vector databases, prompt engineering, orchestration tools).
• Knowledge of agentic AI concepts, including multi-step workflows, tool-using agents, and evaluation strategies for complex systems.
• Experience integrating external APIs, cloud services, or data sources into AI-powered applications.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and iterate quickly based on quantitative and qualitative feedback.
• Clear technical communication skills, with the ability to write documentation, examples, and explanations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working independently in a remote environment, managing priorities, and collaborating asynchronously with a small, fast-moving team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior work on developer tools, ML infrastructure, or educational products is a plus.
