Brief Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Aerospace Systems Engineer with extensive expertise in avionics design, weapon system integration, certification, and aircraft modification programs across military and commercial platforms. The role requires end-to-end ownership of system lifecycle activities including architecture design, software compliance (DO-178), hardware compliance (DO-254), qualification testing, aircraft integration, and certification coordination with regulatory authorities.
The candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, interface with OEMs and certification bodies, and drive complex airborne system programs from concept to flight clearance.
Responsibilities:
1. System Architecture & Avionics Design
Lead system architecture development for avionics subsystems including:
Diagnostics and Mission Systems
Define system requirements, interface control documents (ICD), bus definitions (MIL-STD-1553/1760 or equivalent), and logical architectures.
Perform system trade studies, feasibility analysis, and integration assessments.
Design electrical and logical architectures for pylons and weapon release systems.
2. Software & Hardware Certification
Ensure compliance with:
DO-178C / DO-178B (Software)
DO-254 (Hardware)
DO-160
MIL-STD-810
MIL-STD-461
MIL-STD-704
MIL-STD-1760
Develop certification artifacts including:
SRS (Software Requirements Specification)
SDD (Software Design Description)
ICD (Interface Control Document)
Verification & Validation Plans
Perform static and dynamic code analysis for MISRA-C compliance using LDRA.
Coordinate with IV&V teams and certification agencies for qualification and flight clearance.
3. System Integration
Lead full lifecycle of system integration military aircraft platforms.
Conduct aircraft survey, structural and electrical feasibility analysis.
Define launch logic, cockpit symbology, and pilot operational workflow.
Design and validate ground test equipment for system validation.
Execute aircraft modification programs including wiring harness routing and system installation.
Support ground runs, taxi trials, and flight trials.
4. Embedded Systems & Algorithm Development
Develop embedded software in C/C++ compliant with MISRA standards.
Implement signal processing algorithms including:
Kalman Filter for altitude smoothing
CFAR algorithms for clutter and false detection reduction
Work on FPGA interfacing (Spartan-6) and VHDL-based hardware implementation.
Perform simulation and modeling using MATLAB.
5. Qualification, Testing & Validation
Plan and execute environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing.
Conduct system-level functional testing and hardware-in-loop validation.
Support flight test campaigns and certification trials.
Ensure compliance with aerospace quality frameworks (AS9100D, IMTAR-21, FAR-23).
6. Program & Stakeholder Management
Lead cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain).
Drive Agile-based avionics development as a Certified SCRUM Master.
Coordinate with defence stakeholders, certification agencies, and aircraft OEMs.
Manage BOM finalization, obsolescence planning, and vendor alignment.
Ensure adherence to cost, schedule, and technical baselines.

Qualification
· B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics / Aerospace / Avionics Engineering/ Electrical
· Agile / SCRUM certification preferred
· Candidates with defence /aerospace backgrounds in the same field will be highly preferred
Note: We are looking candidates who have worked on RF design/ System Integration / Certification on military aircrafts through RCMA/ CEMILAC.
