PRODUCTION MANAGER – U&M FACTORY

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Planning and Scheduling of Production: Prioritizing projects and optimizing machine utilization. Ensure process adherence at all times.
2. Ensure Lean Production Process Efficiency: Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, materials, and money. Just-in-time inventory management of raw materials and consumables.
3. Ensure Minimal Wastage and Cost Savings in Production: Implement cost-saving measures.
4. Setup Stringent QC Processes and Documentation: Minimize errors in manufacturing and ensure QC documentation at critical control points.
5. Daily Management and Maintenance of Woodworking Machinery and Equipment: Creating daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules and following up aggressively to implement them on the shop floor with the maintenance manager.
6. Ensure Packaging Standards and Prevent Transit Damages: Implement packaging standards at optimized costs.
7. Coordinate with Clients and Internal Teams: Ensure smooth coordination of orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
8. Ensure the Finishing Line is Upgraded: Optimize productivity and turnaround time for veneer finishing and PU coating.
9. Create a Process for Executing Site Work and Installation: Coordinate with site installation teams to ensure systematic site work and timely project execution.
10. Shop Floor Hygiene and Cleanliness: Set up and implement daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules with the housekeeping/admin team.
11. Create a Team for Prototyping: Manage offcuts and ensure prototyping are managed smoothly and on-time for clients.
12. Setup Offcuts Management Process: Innovate ways to use offcuts and manage storage and retrieval.
13. Attend Woodworking Machinery Fairs: Recommend new machines and dedicated production tools to increase productivity.
14. Engaging Employees and Maintaining a Favorable Working Atmosphere: Achieve objectives by engaging employees.
15. Participate Daily in Production Meetings: Engage in regular meetings for updates and planning.
16. Setup Site Materials Procurement and Issue Process: Implement site materials procurement and issue processes.
17. Participate in Various Committees and Meetings: Engage in committees and meetings for overall company growth.
18. Identify Source of Slowdowns in the Production Chain: Address and resolve production chain slowdowns or stops.
19. Promote and Maintain a Culture of Health and Safety: Implement HACCP initiatives to promote prevention.
20. Document Employee Records and Conduct Performance Evaluations: Maintain records and conduct evaluations.
21. Assess Workforce Needs and Maintain Versatility: Evaluate workforce needs and ensure team versatility.
22. Training and Integration of New Employees: Ensure proper training and integration of new hires.
23. Keep Track of Procedures and Working Methods with Employees: Maintain updated procedures and methods.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering
· Good understanding of Wood Working Machinery Operations and Maintenance.
· Strong in implementing processes and working systematically documenting at each level of manufacturing. Ability to work on and implement ERP.
· Hands-on with Auto CAD and other factory related software.
· 8 to 10 years of experience in Solid wood and Upholstered Furniture manufacturing environment
· Leadership, communication skills and mobilization
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Must respond well under stress and pressures of manufacturing environment
· Enthusiasm, flexibility and organizational skills
· Analytical and problem resolutions skills
· Autonomy and sense of initiative
· Must be able to work with a sense of urgency and work with strict timelines
· Availability to work additional hours
· Must be able to communicate in English and Hindi
