Role: Fund Operations & Accounting

Entity: Artha Bharat Group (New Entity for Pension Fund)

Location: GIFT City / 

Reporting to: Group Head, Operations


Role Overview


Artha Bharat Group is building long‑term, institutionally governed investment platforms aligned with the objectives of pension and retirement capital. The Operations role is central to ensuring that investment activity is supported by robust processes, accurate controls, and scalable infrastructure.


The role involves end‑to‑end responsibility across fund operations, reporting, external service provider coordination, and regulatory processes. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, dependable, and comfortable working at the intersection of investments, compliance, and external stakeholders.


This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fund Accountant based at the entity's office in Gandhinagar, India. The Fund Accountant will be responsible for managing fund accounting processes, preparing financial statements, handling financial reporting, and calculating Net Asset Value (NAV). The role requires maintaining accurate financial books, ensuring regulatory compliance, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and investors.


Key Responsibilities


Fund Operations and Reporting

  • Oversee day‑to‑day fund operations including NAV coordination, reconciliations, cash management, and trade lifecycle support
  • Liaise with fund administrators, custodians, trustees, and auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Review fund accounting outputs, investor statements, and periodic disclosures for accuracy and consistency
  • Support period‑end processes including audits, valuations, and regulatory filings

Investor and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate investor onboarding processes, documentation, and ongoing operational queries
  • Support capital call, distribution, and reporting workflows as required
  • Act as a point of contact for operational matters with institutional stakeholders, service providers, and internal teams

Process Design and Controls

  • Help design, document, and improve operational workflows to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Maintain strong internal controls across data, reporting, and operational processes
  • Identify operational risks and support mitigation measures in line with institutional best practices

Regulatory and Compliance Support

  • Support compliance processes in coordination with the compliance team including regulatory filings, disclosures, and reporting
  • Ensure operational practices are aligned with applicable pension fund regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain proper records, documentation standards, and audit trails

Cross‑functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with investment, risk, and compliance teams to ensure operational readiness for new strategies or products
  • Support implementation of systems and tools used for reporting, operations, and data management


Required Background and Skills


Experience & Skills

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in operations, fund administration, custody, audit, or middle/back office roles
  • Prior exposure to asset management, pension funds, mutual funds, or other institutional investment platforms preferred
  • Experience working with external administrators, custodians, or trustees is strongly desirable
  • Proficiency in Fund Accounting and NAV calculations
  • Experience in preparing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
  • Strong understanding of Finance principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using accounting and financial reporting software is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CA/CPA/CFA certification is highly desirable
  • Experience in a pension fund or asset management environment is an advantage
