Job Description

I am pleased to invite applications from motivated and talented students for a fully funded PhD project on “Drop impact on a vibrating substrate” under the BITS Pilani – RMIT University Joint PhD Program.

This project aims to explore the complex dynamics of droplet impact on vibrating surfaces, which is relevant to applications in surface cleaning, coating technologies, spray cooling, printing, and advanced manufacturing. The research will involve fluid mechanics, interfacial phenomena, and computational/experimental analysis of droplet behavior under dynamic substrate conditions.

Eligibility: Candidates with a background in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Science Engineering, or M.Sc. in relevant disciplines, with a CGPA of 8.0 or above in B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, or M.Sc., are encouraged to apply.

✨ Program Highlights

• 🎓 Joint PhD degree from BITS Pilani (India) and RMIT University (Australia)

• ⏳ Maximum 4-year PhD duration

• 🌏 Opportunity to spend up to one year at RMIT University, Melbourne

• 🤝 Co-supervision by faculty from both institutions throughout the candidature

• 💰 RMIT fellowship: AUD $35,886 per annum

• 💰 BITS fellowship: ₹5,49,600 per annum
