Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Fullstack Developer at E42.ai. The Fullstack Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using modern technologies. They will work on both front-end and back-end development, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the entire stack. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement features, optimize application performance, and resolve any technical challenges will be key parts of the role.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer who builds fast, thinks clearly, and works AI-first. You'll take end-to-end ownership of features, from architecture to deployment, and use AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, and others) as a core part of how you build. We're not hiring for typing speed or syntax recall. We're hiring for judgment, communication, and the ability to ship real value quickly with modern tools. If you're the kind of person who already reaches for AI to move faster and then reviews its output critically, you'll fit right in.

How We Work (please read this part) 

1. AI is encouraged, not banned. We expect you to use AI tools daily. What matters is that you understand, review, and own everything you ship, not just paste and pray.
2. You own outcomes, not tickets. You take a problem from vague idea to shipped, tested, and running in production.
3. Communication is a core skill here, not a "soft" one. You'll explain trade-offs clearly, ask the right questions before building, and keep the team in the loop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain backend services using Django / Django REST Framework and FastAPI
• Develop rich, responsive UIs using React + TypeScript
• Design efficient database schemas and queries (PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Integrate REST APIs and ensure smooth data flow across components
• Use AI tools effectively to build faster, then review and test what they produce
• Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code, and be able to explain why it works
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application scalability
• Work closely with product and AI teams to ship value quickly

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in:

a. Django, Django REST Framework, FastAPI

b. React, Hooks, State Management

c. JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, CSS

• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in real work, and good judgment on when to trust or reject their output
• Excellent communication you can explain a technical decision to both an engineer and a non-technical person.
• Experience with Docker and containerized development
• Good understanding of Git, CI/CD, and API security best practices

Preferred / Good to Have:

• Experience in the finance or fintech domain
• Experience with Kafka or other event streaming / message queues
• A side project, open-source work, or something you built on your own (we love builders)
• Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster deployments
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Familiarity with Celery, Redis, Message Queues, ORM optimization
• Experience with frontend testing (Jest / RTL) or backend testing frameworks
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus)
