The Epikdoc platform leverages AI-powered diagnostics (e.g. X-ray interpretation) and voice-assisted documentation to streamline dental care workflows . In practice, Epikdoc?s tools enable patients to get independent second opinions and view AI-enhanced X-rays, while helping clinics and labs collaborate seamlessly. Role Description We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python/Django, Node.js, React, and AWS. In this startup role, you will take technical ownership of our product and guide a small agile team. You will define the software architecture, oversee implementation, and ensure high-quality code. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities, and has a proven track record of delivering end-to-end software projects. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small development team (including full-time and part-time front-end and back-end engineers, plus QA). Set coding standards and best practices, and conduct regular code reviews. Architecture & Design: Design scalable system architectures and define technical roadmaps. Make key technology decisions and guide the evolution of our stack (Python/Django, Node.js, React, AWS). Full-Stack Development: Actively develop both backend and frontend components. Implement new features in Django/Python and Node.js, and build responsive user interfaces with React. Ownership & Delivery: Take end-to-end ownership of feature development ? from requirement gathering and design through deployment and maintenance. Ship high-quality features rapidly and iteratively, adapting to changing requirements. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and QA to ensure timely delivery. Liaise with part-time team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth integration of work. Code Quality & DevOps: Maintain high code quality through reviews and automated testing. Manage deployments and infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) ensuring reliability and scalability. Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of learning and improvement. Identify technical debts and drive refactoring, and stay updated on best practices and new technologies relevant to the stack. Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong full-stack background. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and Django for backend development; solid experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, including React for frontend and Node.js for backend services. Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch) and deploying web applications in the cloud. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Project Delivery: Proven ability to execute projects end-to-end, including requirements analysis, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring. Leadership & Communication: Prior experience leading technical teams or projects. Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts and mentor other developers. Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can change quickly. Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a bias for action. Additional: Experience in health-tech or AI-driven products is a plus, but not required. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
