About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and talented software engineer to join our small, high-performing product engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for shipping features across the entire Vantage stack, including core reporting, provider integrations, and billing/onboarding systems. Our development process is fast-paced, with 10-20 production releases daily, supported by a well-groomed and prioritized backlog. We utilize tools like Linear, Cursor, and Claude to streamline our workflows, and adopt lightweight processes such as ADRs and async Slack huddles to maintain high quality and effective communication without sacrificing agility. Your contributions will span new feature development, performance optimization, scalability enhancements, and technical debt reduction, often within the same week. From the moment you join, your work will be visible to the team and customers through our changelog. Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience working on full stack web applications
• Strong technical background with proficiency in modern web frameworks, especially Ruby on Rails
• Experience designing and implementing scalable architectures from simple to complex systems
• Ability to write clean, testable, and peer-reviewed code
• Experience leading impactful engineering projects at scale
• Comfortable working as a generalist across both frontend and backend development
• Strong problem-solving skills with a preference for simple, scalable solutions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  
  

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with founders on feature discovery, ideation, and delivery
• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable codebases for new features and system improvements
• Drive technical architecture decisions to support Vantage’s growth and scalability
• Own end-to-end development of features, including measuring and reporting on customer impact
• Participate in customer calls alongside design and product teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and best practices to ensure code quality
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability
