Role Overview

As a Full-Stack Developer at House of EdTech, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of our platforms that serve millions of learners. From designing seamless user experiences to building efficient backend systems, your expertise will help ensure our technology remains cutting-edge, scalable, and impactful. You will work fluidly across the entire technology stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional digital learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance full-stack applications serving millions of learners
Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces using Next.js and React.js with focus on user experience
Design and implement efficient backend APIs and services using Bun, Node.js, Elysia.js, and Hono.js
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices
Implement proper error handling, logging, and monitoring across the application stack

Database & Performance Optimization

Design and optimize database schemas for PostgreSQL and MongoDB
Implement efficient data caching strategies using Redis
Work with Prisma and Drizzle ORMs to build type-safe database interactions
Optimize query performance and database indexing for improved application speed
Ensure data integrity and implement proper backup and recovery mechanisms

Collaboration & Feature Development

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations) to conceptualize, implement, and optimize new features
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-perfect designs
Integrate with third-party APIs and services as needed
Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Troubleshooting & Optimization

Troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues across the full stack
Enhance platform performance, reliability, and scalability
Monitor application performance and implement improvements proactively
Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive measures
Ensure security best practices are followed across the application

Continuous Learning & Innovation

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices
Experiment with new tools and technologies to improve development efficiency
Propose and implement architectural improvements and technical innovations
Participate in technical discussions and contribute to technology decisions
Share knowledge with the team through tech talks and documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience & Technical Proficiency

1+ years of hands-on expertise in full-stack development with demonstrable projects
Strong proficiency in Next.js (App Router is mandatory) and React.js for frontend development
Experience with Bun.sh and Node.js for backend development
Working knowledge of Prisma ORM for database management
Solid understanding of database management with PostgreSQL and MongoDB

Programming & Development Skills

Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6+ features
Understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
Familiarity with modern frontend build tools and bundlers
Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development

Problem-Solving & Collaboration

Strong problem-solving skills with ability to debug complex issues
Team player with excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
Proactive mindset with eagerness to learn and adopt emerging technologies

Additional Technical Knowledge

Understanding of web security best practices (authentication, authorization, data encryption)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment processes

Experience with Elysia.js and Hono.js frameworks
Familiarity with Drizzle ORM
Knowledge of Redis for caching and session management
Experience with Vercel, Railway, AWS, or Cloudflare deployments
Understanding of Docker and containerization
Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright)
Knowledge of GraphQL
Experience in EdTech or e-learning platforms
Familiarity with WebSocket for real-time features
Understanding of serverless architecture and edge computing
Experience with analytics and monitoring tools (Sentry, DataDog, New Relic)

Education

Graduate / Postgraduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
