Front-end Developer (AI-Native)

Working hours per week: 40H Full-time, flexible schedule & time zone

Type of Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Fully remote / occasional meetups in London or Dubai

Salary indication: $35,000+ based on experience + performance bonus

Main Responsibility: Front-end development across web and mobile / AI-led engineering / Product UX

We are hiring a Front-end Developer who builds with Claude as their primary engineering partner. This is not a role for someone who occasionally uses AI to speed up tasks, it is a role for someone whose entire workflow is built around it.

Retail Circle is building the Operating System for luxury merchants. We design and ship native modules, flexible application layers and modular features that drop into any infrastructure. Our customers are luxury businesses currently held back by rigid, generic e-commerce stacks. We are replacing those stacks, one module at a time, with software built specifically for how luxury actually operates.

You will work across the full surface of our product: web modules in React and Next.js, mobile modules in Expo, unified by a shared TypeScript foundation and design system. Your role will require strong taste, a high standard for execution, and the judgment to know when to let Claude run and when to take the wheel yourself. You must be able to communicate in English, spoken and written.

Why this role is different

Most front-end roles ask you to use AI as an assistant. We are asking you to use it as a co-engineer. That changes what we hire for:

•       We value how you think about problems more than how fast you can type.

•       We value how you direct Claude more than how many frameworks you have memorised.

•       We value taste, judgment, and self-critique more than years of experience.

And because we are building an Operating System rather than a single product, your work will compound: every module you ship makes the next one faster to build. If you want to work on something where the architecture matters as much as the surface, this is the role.

If that sounds like the way you already work, or the way you want to work, we want to meet you.

----------------------------------------------------

What you'll do

•       Build and ship the modules that make up our Operating System, across web (React, Next.js) and mobile (Expo).

•       Own the user experience end-to-end: from design through implementation, performance, and iteration.

•       Develop and maintain our shared component library and design system, used across every module.

•       Work directly with our backend developer on integration, performance, and infrastructure.

•       Use Claude end-to-end: Claude Code for production work, Projects for context, Artifacts for prototyping, MCP servers where useful.

•       Ship at 3 to 5 times the pace of a traditional front-end developer, because Claude handles the typing, and you handle the thinking.

Tech stack

•       React, Next.js (App Router, Server Components) for web modules.

•       Expo (React Native) for mobile modules.

•       TypeScript across everything — shared types, business logic, design tokens.

•       Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Framer Motion.

•       GitHub, Vercel, AWS, Cloudflare.

•       Claude Code as a daily driver.

----------------------------------------------------

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Must have:

•       Strong React and Next.js

•       TypeScript fluency.

•       A demonstrable Claude workflow — you can show us how you work, not just claim it. (See the assessment process below.)

•       Taste. A sharp eye for design, typography, and the small details that separate good interfaces from great ones.

•       Self-direction. We are a small, remote team. You will be trusted to make decisions and ship.

Strongly preferred:

•       Expo (React Native) experience. If you have not shipped with Expo specifically, you should be able to demonstrate you can be productive in it within days.

•       E-commerce or luxury brand background.

•       Experience working in modular, multi-package codebases (monorepos, shared libraries).

Nice to have:

•       Experience building MCP servers or other Claude integrations.

•       A side project, open-source contribution, or portfolio piece we can actually look at.

HOW TO APPLY TODAY:

We do not run traditional whiteboard interviews. Our process is built to see how you actually work with Claude.

Send your email to [email protected] with:

  1. Your CV or LinkedIn url.
  2. A link to your GitHub profile (This is non-negotiable — it is how we assess seniority before moving forward).
  3. A short paragraph (not a cover letter) on how you currently use Claude in your day-to-day.
  4. Links to anything you've built that you're proud of. (code, live sites, mobile apps, or all of the above).

Stage 1 — GitHub + Email (15 minutes max)

We are expecting to review your Github profile and any information you wish to share that can highlight your motivation for this job.

We strongly recommend you to share some screenshot of your Claude Code with some component you could build for Retail Circle alongside the result. We are looking at how you prompt, iterate, and self-critique. (use your imagination here).

Stage 2 AI Interview (15 minutes max)

We will send you a link to assist to an AI Interview so you can share some of your experiences and technical knowledge you have accrued on your previous jobs.

Stage 3 — Recorded build (30 minutes)

If Stage 2 goes well, we will send you a brief and ask you to record yourself building it. We want to see the unedited version, the dead ends, the moments Claude got it wrong, the decisions you made along the way.

Stage 4 — Final meeting with the CEO

A call to talk through final details, meet the people you would be working with, and ask us anything.

Apply through direct email for maximum chances. We read every application, and we respond to every applicant who follows the 4 steps brief above.
