We are an early-stage, well-backed company moving quickly, and we are looking for experienced RCM professionals to work with us on a consulting basis.

The Role

We are hiring freelance medical coders and medical billers to support active client work and help shape how our platform handles real-world coding and billing scenarios. This is a flexible, contract engagement. You set your availability, and we scope work to fit it.

What you will do

• Perform medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and/or end-to-end billing tasks including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and AR follow-up
• Review and validate coding and billing outputs for accuracy and payer compliance
• Provide expert feedback on workflows, edge cases, and payer-specific nuances
• Work directly with our team to flag issues and suggest process improvements

What we are looking for

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical coding and/or billing (agency or provider side)
• Coding certification preferred (CPC, CCS, CCA or equivalent) for coding-focused roles
• Strong knowledge of payer rules, denial reasons, and appeals processes
• Experience with common practice management and clearinghouse systems
• Comfortable working independently and communicating asynchronously
• Bonus: multi-specialty experience or exposure to AI-assisted billing tools

Engagement details

• Consultant / independent contractor (1099 or equivalent)
• Flexible hours, project-based or ongoing depending on fit
