About Verispace: Verispace is building the infrastructure layer for India?s rental economy ? enabling automated KYC, fraud detection, and alternative credit intelligence for high-value rental transactions. Cars, electronics, homes, equipment and other assets are rented daily in India, yet the ecosystem remains fragmented and vulnerable to fraud, theft and default. We?re building a secure and scalable identity and trust framework to solve this at a national level. Our MVP is live, early demand signals are strong, and we?re now moving into execution and scale. As one of the first engineers, you?ll work with a clean slate ? no legacy stack ? and influence technical direction, product decisions, and engineering culture from day one. Role Responsibilities: Architect and build the fraud intelligence system (risk scoring, anomaly detection signals). Own backend and verification workflows end-to-end. Build secure APIs, backend services, and internal tools/dashboards (MERN stack). Integrate with third-party providers: KYC, OCR/face match, Account Aggregators, VKYC and others. Own production infrastructure ? CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring systems, and security practices. Make foundational decisions across Docker/Kubernetes, queues, caching and event streaming systems. Collaborate closely with the founders to shape the roadmap and help build the early engineering team. Requirements: 4+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer. Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and modern frontend frameworks such as React and Next.js, along with TypeScript Solid fundamentals in APIs, async systems and system design. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools Strong debugging and performance optimization skills. High ownership mindset with clear communication and independent execution. Value simplicity, scalability, and real-world constraints while keeping end-user experience front and center Experimenters who tinker, hack, break things, troubleshoot and improve/fix things better ? resourceful and jugaadu when needed Ability to show repos, experiments, or meaningful side projects (optional but appreciated) Bonus Experience Early-stage startup or founding-team exposure. Fraud, fintech, KYC/AML or risk-based systems. Familiarity with rule engines or scoring engines. Vendor/API integrations at scale. Experience working with PII: encryption, masking, access controls.
