About the Role As Founding Backend Engineer, you?ll design and operate our core services and data layer?owning APIs, auth/RBAC, reliability, and integrations with LLM services and vector stores?so we can ship fast without breaking things. Read this first: Startup role; during crunches expect 10?12 hours/day. You?ll be a founding team member and rewarded for early contribution (performance bonuses). Onsite only (Ahmedabad). What You?ll Do Build services & APIs (FastAPI / Node+NestJS), auth/RBAC, rate-limiting, billing. Own data: Postgres schema design, migrations, ETL, search/indexing, caching (Redis). Integrate LLM services, vector DBs, and event systems (Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ). Production excellence: CI/CD, IaC, metrics/tracing (OpenTelemetry), SLOs, on-call playbooks. Define contracts with AI/FE; ship fast with safe rollouts and feature flags. Put in place security basics: secrets mgmt, PII handling, auditing. What You?ll Bring (Requirements) 4?8+ years backend; have designed & operated services in production. Strong SQL/data modeling, API design, and reliability mindset. Comfortable with security, secrets, and compliance basics. Bonus: multi-tenant SaaS, payments, or experience around AI inference paths. Onsite in Ahmedabad; okay with 10?12h launch weeks when needed.
