Founder's Office Intern - Deep Tech
AERIAL IQ
Job Description
About Aerial IQ
Aerial IQ is a deep-tech aerospace and unmanned systems company focused on tethered drone systems, persistent aerial surveillance, autonomy, ISR solutions, and defence-tech applications. The company works across enterprise, police, and defence use cases, with a strong focus on developing and deploying mission-critical unmanned systems for India and international markets.
Role Overview
We are looking for a high-ownership Founder’s Office Intern to work directly with the Founder & CEO on execution, project management, technology research, business development support, and strategic initiatives.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants exposure to the intersection of aerospace, defence, drones, deep tech, business strategy, and founder-led execution. The intern will help manage priorities, track critical projects, coordinate follow-ups, prepare business and investor material, research new technologies, and support internal execution across teams.
This is not a conventional internship. The role requires someone proactive, structured, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Founder & CEO to manage priorities, follow-ups, action trackers, and weekly execution reviews.
- Support project management across engineering, procurement, production, trials, demos, proposals, compliance, and customer deliverables.
- Prepare meeting notes, decision logs, action plans, timelines, dashboards, and status updates.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely closure of action items.
- Conduct research on tethered drones, unmanned systems, ISR payloads, counter-drone systems, autonomy, AI-based surveillance, swarms, loitering systems, and global defence-tech trends.
- Support investor, banker, partner, and customer-facing presentations, company profiles, briefing notes, and strategic documents.
- Assist in market research, competitor benchmarking, opportunity mapping, and defence procurement tracking.
- Help structure new initiatives, internal processes, operating reviews, and management dashboards.
- Support proposal preparation, compliance matrices, pricing summaries, and documentation where required.
- Track key business opportunities, customer discussions, vendor dependencies, and internal milestones.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- MBA / PGDM student or recent graduate, preferably with an engineering, technology, aerospace, defence, robotics, or operations background.
- Strong interest in drones, defence technology, aerospace, robotics, unmanned systems, AI, autonomy, or national security technology.
- Excellent written communication, presentation, and research skills.
- Strong command of PowerPoint, Excel/Google Sheets, and productivity/project tracking tools.
- Ability to convert ambiguous discussions into clear action items, timelines, documents, and follow-ups.
- Highly organized, proactive, dependable, and comfortable working directly with senior leadership.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Comfortable coordinating across technical, business, and operations teams.
- Ability to work in a founder-led, fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
Preferred Background
- B.Tech + MBA / PGDM candidates preferred.
- Prior internship or experience in consulting, strategy, operations, project management, aerospace, drones, robotics, defence, manufacturing, or deep tech would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with defence procurement, government tenders, aerospace systems, UAVs, or emerging technologies will be a plus, but is not mandatory.
What the Intern Will Gain
- Direct exposure to the Founder & CEO of a growing defence-tech and aerospace company.
- Hands-on experience in deep-tech business building, project execution, and strategic decision-making.
- Exposure to defence, drones, unmanned systems, ISR, autonomy, and emerging aerospace technologies.
- Opportunity to work on real business problems, customer opportunities, investor material, and high-impact internal initiatives.
- Potential opportunity for a longer-term role in the Founder’s Office / Chief of Staff track based on performance.
Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for someone who is sharp, structured, curious, and execution-oriented. The right candidate should be equally comfortable making a presentation, tracking a project, researching new technology, coordinating with teams, and converting a founder discussion into clear action items.
Candidates looking only for a routine internship or a pure strategy/PPT role may not be the right fit.
