Job Description

Dragon Tavern is hiring a Food Runner to be a part of our busy kitchen staff.

As a Food Runner, you'll be making sure that our patrons receive the correct orders within a timely manner! Experience in high-volume food and beverage service is important to this position.

Dragon Tavern is the food and drink side of The Shed at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Superior communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to get along with a broad customer base.
  • Experience in high-volume food and beverage service.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Work closely with kitchen staff members to keep the expediting food clear for new orders.
  • Take orders from customers or bar waiter/waitress as needed.
  • Clean trays and tray holders in between use.
  • Deliver food to the appropriate diners.
  • Take orders in the absence of Waiters/Waitresses as needed.
  • Ability to multitask in order to ensure customers get their orders promptly and correctly.
  • Replenishes condiments as needed.
  • Communicate with customers while checking on their satisfaction or taking an impromptu requests.


Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of serving and seating areas.
  • Ensure merchandise displays are stocked, clean, dust free, and appealing to customers.
  • Accept cash or credit card payments for product purchases.
  • Keep cash register accurate.


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary.
  • Handle transactions quickly, courteously and accurately.
  • Make menu item recommendations as requested.


Cleanliness

  • Performing some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen and in the dining area
  • Assist with set-up, organization, and staging of special events.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach.
  • Frequently requires the ability to lift up to 20 or more pounds of material.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to lift up to a 50 pound of material.
  • Frequently requires the ability to stand and walk throughout work shift.
  • Frequently requires the ability to move about the establishment.


Working Conditions

  • Majority of work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Occasionally works near moving vehicles.
  • Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes.
