Fire-Fighting Design Manager

We are looking for an experienced Fire-Fighting Design Manager to lead the design and engineering of fire protection systems for large-scale building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in fire-fighting system design, code compliance, hydraulic calculations, multidisciplinary coordination, and design team management.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Fire-Fighting Design team for multiple projects from concept design to detailed engineering and construction documentation.

Prepare, review, and approve fire protection system designs, including:

• Fire Hydrant Systems
• Automatic Sprinkler Systems
• Hose Reel Systems
• Fire Suppression Systems
• Clean Agent Systems
• Foam Systems
• Water Mist Systems
• Fire Alarm Interface Coordination
• Smoke Extraction / Pressurization systems coordination

Perform and review hydraulic calculations, pump head calculations, water tank sizing, pressure loss calculations, and equipment selection.

Ensure all designs comply with NFPA, NBC, TAC, FM Global, and local authority regulations.

Develop design concepts, technical drawings, schematics, layouts, specifications, BOQ/BOM, and technical reports.

Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and BIM teams for seamless design integration.

Lead design review meetings, technical discussions, and client coordination meetings.

Review and approve shop drawings, design submissions, technical documentation, and construction drawings.

Support tender engineering, vendor technical evaluation, and project proposals.

Guide BIM teams in preparing Revit-based fire-fighting models and clash-free coordinated designs.

Ensure quality control and standardization of design deliverables.

Mentor and train junior fire protection design engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Fire Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in Fire-Fighting Design Engineering.
• Proven experience in leading design teams for complex building/infrastructure projects.

• Strong expertise in:
• NFPA Codes
• NBC / TAC Guidelines
• FM Global Standards
• Fire authority approval processes
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit MEP / BIM
• Hydraulic calculation software
• MS Office
• Navisworks (preferred)
