Financial Controller

As we scale globally, we are looking for a Financial Controller who can build a world-class finance function with strong operational discipline, timely reporting and financial governance.

The Financial Controller will own the day-to-day finance operations of the company while ensuring accurate financial reporting, cash flow visibility, compliance and financial controls. Working closely with the Founder and leadership team, this role will help build scalable financial processes that support rapid growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who enjoys building systems rather than simply maintaining them.

Financial Reporting

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial close.
• Prepare accurate Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Deliver monthly management reports with variance analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate MIS reporting for leadership.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Prepare annual operating plans and budgets.
• Maintain rolling financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget versus actual performance.
• Track department-wise spending and recommend corrective actions.

Cash Flow & Treasury

• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor collections, receivables and working capital.
• Manage vendor payments and banking relationships.
• Optimize cash utilization and liquidity.

Revenue & SaaS Finance

• Track ARR, MRR, bookings and realized revenue.
• Monitor deferred revenue and subscription accounting.
• Maintain customer billing accuracy.
• Support pricing analysis and commercial reporting.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax and Companies Act requirements.
• Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits and tax filings.
• Maintain strong financial controls and documentation.
• Liaise with auditors, consultants and regulatory authorities.

Financial Operations

• Conduct accounting, payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
• Improve financial processes through automation.
• Ensure timely reconciliations across banks, customers and vendors.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Investor & Board Support

• Prepare board reporting packs.
• Support fundraising due diligence.
• Assist in financial modelling and investor reporting.
• Build data rooms for investors and lenders.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Strengthen internal controls and approval workflows.
• Improve reporting automation.
• Recommend ERP and finance system enhancements.
• Build scalable finance processes aligned with company growth.

Desired Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
• 6 to 10 years of finance and controllership experience.
• Experience in SaaS, technology or venture-backed startups is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards and taxation.
• Experience supporting fundraising or investor reporting is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience with accounting and ERP platforms such as Zoho Books, Tally, NetSuite or similar.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, gross margin and cash burn.
