Job Description
The Financial Audit Analyst plays a critical role in supporting enterprise‑wide financial integrity through advanced auditing, general ledger analysis, and multi‑entity accounting functions. Under general supervision, this role performs complex financial, operational, and audit‑related analyses that support accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous improvement across the organization. The Financial Audit Analyst partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Clinical leadership to ensure compliance, enhance audit readiness, and strengthen overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and assist in the development of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including detailed variance analysis and KPI reporting.
- Conduct complex financial, statistical, and operational studies to support decision-making across multi‑unit medical and clinical operations.
- Review, interpret, and validate financial data to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support leadership reporting.
- Ensure accuracy of expense classification, revenue recognition, and alignment with GAAP.
General Ledger, Accounting & Budgeting
- Execute and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid schedules, and other key GL activities.
- Support annual operating and capital budget development, collaborating with departments to capture assumptions and validate financial inputs.
- Maintain and analyze general ledger activity with a strong command of debits, credits, and multi‑entity intercompany transactions.
- Ensure alignment and accuracy across cost centers, projects, capital vs. operating expense classifications, and internal reporting structures.
Close & Audit Support
- Lead or support month‑end and year‑end close activities for the Medical Group and related business units, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Coordinate audit activities, including preparing required audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with Finance, IT, Operations, and Clinical leadership to understand financial drivers and improve reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to system optimization efforts involving PeopleSoft, Workday, and other enterprise financial systems.
- Support ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to guide strategic and operational decision-making.
Qualifications
Required
- 5–10 years of financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting experience within healthcare or a complex multi‑entity organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare financial operations, and multi‑entity accounting environments.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong experience with general ledger accounting, including mastery of debits and credits.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday).
- Familiarity with audit preparation, financial controls, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information and complex multi-unit financial processes.
