About The Role

The Financial Analyst II at CHRISTUS Health plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s revenue cycle management through comprehensive data analysis and reporting. This position involves synthesizing complex financial and operational data from multiple sources to generate clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. The analyst will collaborate closely with facilities, corporate groups, senior leadership, and external partners to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost containment, and process improvement. A key focus of this role is standardizing management reporting, benchmarking performance metrics, and developing financial models that support the organization’s goals of maximizing net revenue and cash flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to communicate complex data effectively across diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle analysis, or a similar analytical role.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, and Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, billing, coding, and payer relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large data sets into meaningful insights.
  • Effective communication skills to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage existing revenue cycle reporting capabilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Assist in standardizing goal-setting processes and monitoring productivity and performance metrics across facilities and departments.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate relevant data to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of benchmarking and comparative analyses of revenue cycle performance metrics.
  • Perform financial opportunity assessments to identify areas for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
  • Support strategic planning efforts by focusing on high-priority areas to improve cash flow and net revenue realization system-wide.
  • Develop financial models and other analytical tools to evaluate the impact of revenue cycle strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring performance measures linked to strategic goals, ensuring successful implementation and tracking of results.
  • Provide operational teams with analytical support and tools to detect current and forecast future performance issues.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships at both corporate and facility levels to foster collaboration and support for initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture external relationships to stay informed of industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and work procedures.
  • Utilize advanced computing skills to manage multiple projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Participate actively as a team member, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Analyze and prepare special projects as assigned, supporting continuous improvement efforts.
