Job Description

Position: Finance Controller (FC)

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana

Role Overview :We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Controller to manager Varaha’s finance and accounting functions. The FC will ensure robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning, playing a critical role in supporting our growth and mission to drive climate-positive impact at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize financial performance.
Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
Lead audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to monitor project economics and financial viability of climate initiatives.
Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices in finance operations.

Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.

7–12 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in startups, climate tech, or impact-driven organizations.
Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, and corporate governance.
Experience with international projects, multi-currency accounting, and donor/funder reporting is a plus.
Proficiency in financial systems and ERP tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
