About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance & Compliance Manager to oversee financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, payroll, audits, and internal controls across multiple business entities. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
• Monitor accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple business entities.
  
  

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit tax returns while coordinating with tax authorities.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance.
• Maintain statutory records and ensure timely regulatory filings.
  
  

Audit & Governance

• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and resolve audit observations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
• Strengthen governance, financial controls, and compliance processes.
  
  

Payroll & Finance Operations

• Oversee payroll processing for local and expatriate employees.
• Manage employee reimbursements, advances, and financial records.
• Ensure statutory deductions and payroll compliance.
  
  

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement robust financial controls.
• Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Improve accounting procedures and standardize finance processes across entities.
• Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.
  
  

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
• Monitor team performance and ensure high-quality financial operations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Mandatory

• CA, ACCA, or CPA qualification (Mandatory).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation, and financial compliance.
• Strong experience with Tally Prime or similar ERP/accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modelling, Pivot Tables, and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience working in Uganda or other East African countries.
• Knowledge of Ugandan taxation, URA regulations, and NSSF compliance.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, engineering, or real estate sectors.
• Exposure to multi-company accounting and expatriate payroll management.
