Role Description The Fiber Engineer for BharatNet HP will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining fiber-optic networks in Kangra as part of the BharatNet project. This full-time, on-site role involves conducting field surveys, designing and supervising outside plant fiber routes, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and ensuring adherence to technical standards and safety guidelines. The Fiber Engineer will monitor installation quality, perform testing and troubleshooting of optical fiber links, and prepare documentation, reports, and as-built drawings. The role also includes tracking project milestones, supporting network optimization, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of network infrastructure.

• Candidates should possess strong expertise in Outside Plant planning, deployment, and field supervision.
• Candidates should possess skills in Network Design, including route planning, capacity calculations, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Candidates should possess practical knowledge of Fibre and Optical Fiber technologies, including splicing, testing (OTDR, power meter), and fault isolation.
• Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including scheduling, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
• Relevant engineering degree or diploma (e.g., Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical, or related field) is preferred.
• Experience in fiber rollout projects, preferably in rural broadband or government initiatives, is beneficial.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, use GIS or mapping tools, and maintain accurate documentation is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, willingness to work in field conditions, and familiarity with safety and quality-compliance practices are desirable.
