Job Title: Fashion Designer ? Ethnic Wear Location: GIDC Sachin, Surat Industry: Garment Manufacturing ? Ethnic Wear Role Overview: We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer (Ethnic Wear) with proven experience in the garment manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian ethnic wear, fabric sourcing, and production feasibility, along with the ability to lead design development from concept to final sample. Key Responsibilities: Research market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor collections in ethnic wear. Design and develop innovative collections ? lehengas, sarees, kurtis, gowns, sherwanis, and indo-western styles. Prepare mood boards, sketches, CAD designs, and technical sheets. Work closely with the sampling, embroidery, and production teams to execute designs. Suggest fabric choices, trims, embroidery techniques, and ornamentation. Ensure cost-effectiveness and production viability of designs. Supervise fittings and make necessary alterations for perfect finishing. Build vendor and supplier networks for sourcing materials. Mentor junior designers/trainees in the team. Qualifications & Skills: Degree/Diploma in Fashion Designing or Textile Designing. 3?5 years of proven experience in ethnic wear design within a garment manufacturing setup. Strong portfolio showcasing ethnic collections. Proficiency in design software (CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD tools). Deep knowledge of traditional and modern fabrics, embroidery, and embellishments. Strong visualization, creativity, and market awareness. Ability to handle deadlines and work with production constraints.
