Job Description

Location: Shivamogga (Shimoga), Karnataka

Industry: Plastic Injection Molding Manufacturing

Reporting To: Managing Director


Job Purpose

The Factory In-Charge is responsible for overall factory operations, ensuring smooth production, quality compliance, safety, discipline, cost control, and effective handling of IML systems and automation/robots.


Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations
  • Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
  • Ensure optimum utilization of machines, molds, robots, and manpower
  • Monitor cycle time, output, downtime, and rejection
  • Troubleshoot production and automation issues and take corrective action
  • Ensure smooth running of IML machines and robotic take-out systems
  • Ensure on-time dispatch
Quality Management
  • Maintain consistent product quality
  • Control rejection, rework, and scrap
  • Implement SOPs and quality checks
  • Ensure proper IML label placement, adhesion, and finish
  • Prepare for customer and internal audits
Maintenance & Utilities
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of machines, molds, robots, and IML systems
  • Coordinate breakdown maintenance
  • Monitor utilities (power, air, water)
  • Reduce downtime through root cause analysis
Manpower & Discipline
  • Manage operators, supervisors, and helpers
  • Ensure attendance, shift discipline, and productivity
  • Train operators on machine operation, IML process, robot handling, safety, and quality
  • Handle shop-floor issues
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure workplace safety
  • Implement 5S and housekeeping
  • Comply with Factory Act and Pollution Control norms
Reporting & Coordination
  • Daily production, rejection, downtime, and IML performance reporting
  • Coordinate with management and support functions
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes
  • Hands-on experience with IML (In-Mold Labeling) and robotic automation
  • Production planning and quality control
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on shop-floor management
Experience & Qualification
  • Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Plastics / Production
  • 5–7 years manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 3 years in supervisory role
  • Exposure to IML or automation-driven molding preferred
