An Export-Import Compliance Officer is crucial in ensuring that an organization's cross-border business transactions are conducted in accordance with all international, federal, and local trade regulations. This role requires the officer to work closely with various teams such as logistics, legal, customs brokers, and suppliers to safeguard that all goods moving in and out of the country comply with appropriate laws and standards. The compliance officer must stay updated on changes in regulations and provide guidance to the business on the impacts of these changes. Responsibilities

• Ensure all import and export activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations and policies.
• Develop and implement company policies regarding international trade compliance.
• Collaborate with customs brokers and government agencies to resolve issues swiftly.
• Conduct regular audits of export and import documentation and procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance requirements and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain export and import compliance documentation accurately.
• Monitor and assess new trade compliance risks and mitigate them effectively.
• Interface with logistics providers to facilitate efficient and compliant product moves.
• Act as the first point of contact for compliance-related inquiries and requests.
• Investigate and report compliance violations to senior management promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in international business, law, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in export-import compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of international trade laws and customs regulations.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
