Job Title: Executive ? Formulations (Value Engineering & Packaging) Experience Required: 2?4 Years Location: Mumbai Department: R&D / Product Development Reports To: Manager / Head ? R&D & Innovation Role Overview We are looking for a Formulation Executive to support value engineering and cost optimization projects across formulations and packaging. The role involves reformulating existing products with cost-effective alternatives, evaluating raw material substitutions, conducting stability and compatibility studies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited for candidates with strong formulation knowledge and a keen eye for detail, who can contribute to technical trials, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Value Engineering & Reformulation Assist in analyzing existing formulations and packaging to identify cost drivers. Conduct trials using alternate ingredients, packaging materials, or processes to optimize costs without compromising quality. Technical Testing & Validation Perform stability studies, compatibility testing, and product performance evaluations on revised formulations and packaging. Document results and share technical findings with the manager / project lead. Raw Material & Packaging Support Work with procurement and suppliers to collect technical data and samples of alternate raw materials and packaging. Benchmark new materials and assess their suitability through lab trials. Cross-functional Support Collaborate with QA, regulatory, and packaging teams during trials and validation. Support implementation of approved formulation changes in pilot and production scale. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate trial records, lab notebooks, formulation revisions, and evaluation reports. Follow internal standards and global cosmetic regulations (BIS, FDA, EU, ISO). Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor?s / Master?s in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related field. 2?4 years of experience in cosmetic / personal care / pharmaceutical formulation development. Knowledge of ingredient functionalities, stability testing, and basic analytical methods. Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory requirements. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and documentation skills. Passion for formulations and product optimization. Quick learner with strong execution capability. Ability to work independently on lab trials with minimal supervision. Team player, collaborative, and open to cross-functional learning. High sense of responsibility and ownership of assigned tasks.
