Job Description

Introduction The IBM Cloud Data Services teams are responsible for developing and operating the Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings that provide Data Services in IBM Cloud. Candidates should have a strong desire to work within a CICD environment and have a passion for embracing new cloud technologies. You need to be collaborative, able to handle responsibility and love learning new techniques and tools. There is a requirement to be expert in Go language and other cloud technologies such as Kubernetes. Candidate should have track record of delivering microservices based SW solutions using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Gradle, Travis and Docker.The developer will participate in the design of the service, writing tools and automation, building containers, developing automated tests, implementing monitoring and runbooks and handling complex customer escalations. The developer must have a deep understanding of the HA configurations, and general operations in a production environment. The key requirement is to have a passion for Developing a High quality, Highly Available service. We are a "You build it, You run it" culture. As a developer, you will join our follow-the-sun rotation where you will be the primary responder for automated system alerts. You will follow runbooks to resolve issues and use your troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose or troubleshoot platform or Data Service issues. Your Role And Responsibilities Develop, deploy, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines for real-time data streaming. Design and maintain Kafka producer and consumer applications using Java, Scala, or Python. Configure, monitor, and optimize Kafka clusters, topics, and brokers to support high throughput event streaming. Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant experience Strong experience developing on Apache Kafka, including Kafka Streams and Kafka Connect 3-5 years in programming with Java, Scala or Go 3-5 years experience in Kubernetes and CICD environment 3-5 years experience with developing and operating highly available, distributed applications in production environments on Kubernetes 3-5 years experience with managing service dependencies such as service credentials or other cloud service via Terraform or Ansible Fluent English
