About the Role

We are seeking an Equity Research Expert (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on equity research, financial analysis, company valuation, investment research, and AI-generated financial content evaluation.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated equity research reports, financial models, investment recommendations, valuation analyses, and market intelligence. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for investment research, financial analysis, equity valuation, and capital markets.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Capital Markets, or Financial Advisory.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverables addressing real-world equity research and investment analysis scenarios.
• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated equity research reports, financial analyses, valuation models, investment theses, and market commentary.
• Assess AI outputs for financial accuracy, analytical rigor, structured reasoning, source validation, and investment relevance.
• Build and review financial models, including revenue forecasts, operating models, earnings projections, cash flow analysis, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
• Perform company valuation using methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis (Comps), Precedent Transactions, Sum-of-the-Parts (SOTP), and relative valuation techniques.
• Conduct industry and market research, including competitive benchmarking, sector trends, macroeconomic analysis, market sizing, and growth opportunity assessment.
• Analyze financial statements, earnings reports, annual reports, investor presentations, regulatory filings, and management commentary.
• Evaluate AI-generated investment recommendations for logical reasoning, financial assumptions, valuation accuracy, and risk assessment.
• Review earnings models, financial forecasts, investment notes, research reports, and equity screening analyses.
• Identify analytical errors, unsupported assumptions, valuation inconsistencies, financial inaccuracies, and weak investment reasoning in AI-generated outputs.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in equity research, financial analysis, and investment decision support.
• Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, FRM, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Corporate Finance, or Financial Advisory.
• Building financial models including three-statement models, forecasting models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Performing company valuation using DCF, Trading Comparables, Transaction Comparables, SOTP, and other valuation methodologies.
• Conducting detailed industry research, market sizing, competitive analysis, and sector benchmarking.
• Reviewing annual reports, SEC filings, investor presentations, earnings transcripts, and financial disclosures.
• Preparing investment research reports, earnings notes, company initiation reports, and investment recommendations.
• Evaluating AI-generated financial analyses for accuracy, commercial relevance, and analytical quality.
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ, FactSet, Refinitiv Eikon, PitchBook, Morningstar, or similar financial research platforms is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, financial modeling, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated financial content for analytical accuracy and investment relevance.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience covering specific sectors such as Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Industrials, Energy, Consumer, or Telecom.
• Experience publishing equity research reports, initiating coverage, earnings previews/reviews, or investment recommendations.
• Familiarity with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), annual reports, investor presentations, and global accounting standards.
• Experience evaluating AI-generated financial datasets, investment research workflows, or financial benchmarking projects.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or financial data analytics tools is an advantage.
• CFA Charterholder or candidate, CA, FRM, or MBA (Finance) is highly desirable.
