Job Description: Inventory Manager – Scaffolding Equipment
Location: Cincinnati, OH

Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all scaffold equipment inventory, yard organization, and material tracking for the branch. This role ensures that scaffold components are accurately tracked, properly maintained, and available to support project needs while minimizing loss, damage, and downtime. The ideal candidate has experience in construction equipment management, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of scaffold components and yard operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
• Maintain accurate inventory of scaffold equipment including frames, braces, planks, guardrails, base plates, and system scaffold components.
• Track material movement between yard, job sites, and return locations.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment when necessary.
Yard Operations
• Oversee scaffold yard organization to ensure efficient loading and unloading.
• Coordinate staging of scaffold material for upcoming projects.
• Ensure returned material is inspected, sorted, and properly stored.
• Maintain safe and efficient yard layout and workflow.
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance
• Inspect scaffold equipment for damage or safety issues.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of damaged components.
• Ensure equipment meets company safety and OSHA standards.
Logistics & Job Support
• Work closely with project managers and field supervisors to ensure materials are available for scheduled jobs.
• Prepare equipment lists and load plans for jobsite deliveries.
• Track equipment utilization and identify shortages.
Team Supervision
• Supervise yard personnel and forklift operators.
• Assign daily tasks for loading, unloading, and organizing scaffold materials.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and yard procedures.
Reporting & Systems
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or spreadsheets.
• Prepare reports on inventory levels, losses, and equipment utilization.
• Assist management with inventory forecasting and planning.
Qualifications
• 3–5+ years of experience in construction equipment inventory, yard management, or scaffolding operations.
• Knowledge of scaffold components and systems preferred.
• Experience supervising warehouse or yard personnel.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate or oversee operation of forklifts and yard equipment.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or ERP software.
• Ability to work in an outdoor yard environment.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent walking through yard and warehouse areas.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with scaffolding inventory.
• OSHA safety training.
• Forklift certification.
